Honestly, you would probably still want to put these on your wish list!

1. Mall Madness
Why you totally wanted this: The game looked interactive AF, and honestly, in the ’80s there was nothing cooler than a mall!

2. Sea Wees
Why you totally wanted this: ‘Cause these were a bath time essential and you couldn’t have too many of them.

3. Jem and the Holograms Dolls
Why you totally wanted this: Well, if you couldn’t actually BE Jem, at least you could style the doll in that insanely fierce metallic wrap dress and the greatest belt of all time.

4. Jem’s Rockin’ Roadster
Why you totally wanted this: Not only was this a chic-looking convertible, but it also came with a working radio in the trunk! Truly, truly outrageous!!!

5. Fashion Plates
Why you totally wanted this: It was an effortless and fun way to make amazing designs of everything from minis to prairie skirts.

6. Lady Lovely Locks
Why you totally wanted this: It was all about the HAIR!!!! You could spend all day combing it! Plus, she came with little hair clips you could put in your own hair.

7. Barbie and the Rockers
Why you totally wanted this: Barbie all of a sudden became cool once she rebranded herself and started competing directly with Jem. Also, like Barbie, you, too, were born with a “mic in your hand.”

8. Colorforms
Why you totally wanted this: Mainly because they looked directly like the cartoons they were based on. Also, they had that addictive plasticky smell. Unfortunately, these really only provided about 20 minutes of fun, since all you could do with them was stick the vinyl stickers on a board.

9. She-Ra: Princess of Power
Why you totally wanted this: She-Ra was the ultimate ’80s badass who didn’t take shit from anybody. Plus, she was actually an action figure and not a doll.

10. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Action Figures
Why you totally wanted this: ‘Cause you needed a few of these (especially He-Man) to be part of She-Ra’s expanded universe.

11. Crystal Castle Play Set

12. Pound Puppies
Why you totally wanted this: They were just too adorable — you just had to have one or six!

13. Fisher-Price Medical Kit
Why you totally wanted this: Because you were saving stuffed animals’ lives before Doc McStuffins was even a gleam in Disney’s eye.

14. Sylvanian Families
Why you totally wanted this: Because these anthropomorphic figurines really were all sorts of cute and came with a very detailed and expansive world (aka tons of accessories and playsets).

Why you totally wanted this: These were the ultimate elementary school status symbol!

17. Cabbage Patch Kids Dolls
Why you totally wanted this: These dolls were the ultimate ’80s toy, and every kid wanted one. Plus, you could frame the birth certificate and send out announcements.

18. Popples
Why you totally wanted this: Because there was something appealing about turning these guys into their ball shape. Also, they were extremely cute.

21. Garfield Phone
Why you totally wanted this: Because it was oh so cool! Garfield would open his eyes only when you picked up the handset; the rest of the time, he just ~slept~.

22. Sweet Secrets
Why you totally wanted this: These tiny dolls, which transformed into jewelry and makeup, were the perfect little treasure to carry in your empty purse.

23. Teddy Ruxpin
Why you totally wanted this: Because you were convinced that he was more than a talking tape player and that he would come to life and be a cool-ass pet friend.

24. The Baby-Sitters Club Books
Why you totally wanted this: You couldn’t get enough of the series and needed the entire collection.

25. Barbie Clothing
Why you totally wanted this: At some point, all the Barbie clothes you owned began to look a little boring. It didn’t matter that 99% of the time your Barbie was naked; you needed more and more fashionable clothes for her (she needed to keep up with the times!).

26. Smurf PVC Figures
Why you totally wanted this: Aside from the fact that you loved the cartoon, these really were the perfect toys. You could fit a bunch of them into your pocket and take them anywhere with you.

Why you totally wanted this: ‘Cause it had a Memphis design aesthetic that was just oh so modern looking.

28. Barbie DreamHouse
Why you totally wanted this: This was the ultimate Barbie playset, and let’s be honest: You knew that owning this would give you bragging rights among your friends.

29. My Little Pony
Why you totally wanted this: They were MAGICAL PONIES that came in every color combination imaginable. Also, their smell was weirdly soothing.

Why you totally wanted this: Sure, there was the Show Stable, but honestly, it was really all about the castle! Like, ponies + a pretty castle = EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED!!!

Why you totally wanted this: Ummm, to organize everything in it!!! All those compartments and the cases came with matching accessories.

40. Nintendo
Why you totally wanted this: There was NO gift in the ’80s that kids wanted more than a Nintendo! It was just the ultimate!!!
